Bladefree LASIK

The femtosecond laser is used to create the corneal flap necessary to complete the LASIK procedure.  The laser functions as a protective shield by eliminating pain and reducing the chances of scarring for the patient. It was FDA approved in 2003 and has been adopted by the majority of LASIK surgeons, despite its increased cost.  The femtosecond laser is more predictable and precise than a metal blade and has been shown to reduce complications and improve outcomes. Dr. Walter uses the FS200 femtosecond laser integrated with the excimer laser (responsible for etching your cornea to the correct curvature, permitting you to correctly focus) to create a quick and seamless experience for the LASIK patient.
