The most common “complaint” we hear is… “I wish I would have done this sooner” . By far most patients find LASIK to be very easy and comfortable with little or no time off of work. It doesn't hurt and only takes about 5 minutes per eye.

My name is Jack Stepp, I'm a certified ophthalmic technician with approximately 17 years experience in ophthalmology.  At present I have personally been involved in a little over 6,000 laser and refractive procedures.  Over the years I have had the opportunity to have LASIK surgery by other surgeons I've worked with, but have declined for reasons of comfort with the particular surgeon.  After I had the opportunity to work with Dr. Walter and assist him with his surgeries by acting as scrub technician and laser engineer, I knew he was the surgeon I wanted to perform my surgery.  I had LASIK surgery with Dr. Walter in April of 2004, and have been extremely satisfied with my results.  I now can see 20/15 in both eyes without glasses or contacts.  I only wish I could have worked with him earlier in my career.  I've worked with the "specialists" before; Dr. Walter is a TRUE specialist.  I feel Dr. Walter should be the standard with which other surgeons should be measured.

A few months ago, I made a big decision...one that would change my life for the better. I decided to have lasik surgery done on my eyes. I have worn glasses and contacts for about 15 years of my life. I was always uncomfortable wearing my glasses, and my contacts bothered my eyes. So I made the decision to proceed with the surgery. I didn't know where to go to have such a thing done. I mean, it's my eyes we're talking about. I wanted to go somewhere good. My sister had lasik done at Wake Forrest Eye Center about 6 years ago, and she referred me there. She said she wouldn't go anywhere else. So I took her advice. And I'm so glad I did.
